THE MOMENT
When the aurora arrives, you’ll know — sometimes before you’ve left your chair. Every wide window faces north, straight into aurora country. No countdown, no rush back to a bus. Step out under the full sweep of it, knowing the warmth of the lounge is always close.
TWO FIRES
Settle beside the stone fireplace with a complimentary hot chocolate, or step outside to roast your own s’more beneath the Yukon sky. Beer, wine and Baileys are available for purchase from the licensed bar, and may be enjoyed around the outdoor fire.
Both fires burn throughout the evening, and you’re free to move between them whenever you like. Complimentary Wi-Fi makes it easy to share the moment as it happens.
YOUR SPOT
Couples take the armchairs by the fire. Friends spread across the sectionals. The window benches keep the night sky in easy view. With no more than 24 guests, there’s always a good seat.
LOCALLY HOSTED
Aurora Lounge was created and is hosted by Epic North Tour Experiences, a locally based Yukon operator. Your hosts read the conditions, answer the questions, and keep the evening warm and welcoming throughout.
Complimentary hot chocolate, coffee and a selection of teas are available throughout the evening. Beer, wine and Baileys are available for purchase from the licensed bar — Yukon-brewed options among them.
WHAT'S INCLUDED
Good to know: The evening is available to guests aged 16 and older. Winter clothing is not supplied — bring insulated boots, warm layers, a toque and gloves for Yukon temperatures, especially if you plan to spend time around the outdoor fire.

Even so, the aurora is a natural phenomenon shaped by solar activity, weather and cloud. No one can promise you a display, and we won’t.
What we can promise: a guide keeping an eye on the sky and conditions throughout the evening, and a night genuinely worth having whatever happens overhead.

Yukon winter nights commonly range from −5 °C to −30 °C. The lounge is fully heated, but winter clothing is not supplied — bring insulated boots, warm layers, a toque and gloves, especially if you plan to spend time around the outdoor fire.

No. Weather can change quickly because of the microclimates around Whitehorse. Many winter evenings begin cloudy or snowy and clear as the night cools. We will not make the cancellation decision for you. If you prefer not to attend, you may check the weather forecast and cancel at least 24 hours before departure under our cancellation policy.
An earlier return at approximately midnight may be available when there are at least six guests at the cabin. The standard return to Whitehorse is approximately 2:00 a.m.
No. The Aurora Lounge is not open to independent vehicle access. Pickup and return transportation from downtown Whitehorse are included with your booking.

The experience is not currently wheelchair accessible. Guests must be able to enter and exit our passenger vans independently. If you have mobility concerns, please contact us before booking so we can explain the vehicle and site access requirements.
Absolutely. Bring your camera or phone, and our guides can help you with settings and aurora-photography techniques. Tripods are available to use free of charge. Our guides also use professional cameras to take complimentary guest photographs throughout the evening, which are made available to download after your visit.
The northern lights are a natural phenomenon, and clear skies or visible aurora cannot be guaranteed. The evening operates as scheduled in cloudy conditions, and refunds are not provided solely because the aurora is not visible. If you would like another opportunity, ask your guide about a discounted subsequent night. When space is available, the guide can help arrange the new booking at the lounge.
The Aurora Lounge operates annually from September 1 through March 31.
TRANSPORTATION
The Aurora Lounge sits in a private wilderness setting approximately 20 minutes south of Whitehorse — far enough to escape the city light. Pickup and return transportation from downtown Whitehorse accommodations is included, with return at approximately 2:00 a.m.
The lounge isn’t open to independent vehicle access — we bring every guest out and back. No rental car, no icy night driving. Open annually September 1 through March 31.
